Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Trails
At Path & Post Real Estate, we believe that of all the paths you take in life, make sure some of them are dirt. 🙂
We are fortunate to have some great biking and hiking trails in Cherokee County, including the Blankets Creek Bike Trails which are centrally located in off I-575 at Sixes Road.
Blankets Creek contains seven trails traversing 15 miles of volunteer maintained trails, ranging from .25 miles to 4.2 miles, with experience levels from beginners to experts.
Although hiking on foot is allowed, bicycle riders have the right-of-way. Hikers should travel in the direction opposite of bike travelers.
Initially opened in 2000, the Blankets Creek Bike Trails are among the most popular mountain bike trails in the U.S. They represent a partnership between Cherokee County, the US Army Corps of Engineers (Allatoona Lake) and SORBA Woodstock (Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association).
SORBA Woodstock hosts many events at Blanket’s Creek including social rides, bike races, trail work parties, and events. Pedalpalooza is coming Saturday October 13 from 10am-3pm, featuring bike demos, live music, BBQ, and more. SORBA Woodstock also has an excellent trail guide map on their website.
The trailhead is at 2261 Sixes Road and includes parking, pavilions and restrooms.
