Incredible Restaurants

Canton features some incredible locally owned restaurants, including Queenies, Local on North, Mama Onesta’s, Downtown Kitchen, Riverstone Corner Bistro, and Goin’ Coastal, just to name a few. If you like to support local, chef driven restaurants instead of national chains, you will love these options for a great meal, awesome service and a relaxing atmosphere.

New Shopping Opportunities

Many new shopping opportunities are opening in Canton. Across from Canton Marketplace which currently includes Target, Lowes, Kohls, and Best Buy, will be the Canton Exchange. This new shopping center includes Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Party City, Tuesday Morning, Dollar Tree, and Pet Supermarket. Planet Fitness is also located at the Canton Exchange, along with Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Newk’s Eatery, Dunkin Donuts, and several other new businesses.
Nearby, Northside Hospital Cherokee is a tremendous community asset, with state of the art medical care in a beautiful new facility. The hospital is already expanding to meet the increased demand from the North Georgia area.

Revitalized Downtown

The historic downtown district is booming as well with a revitalization that is creating a significant buzz in the community and beyond. Combining the rich heritage of Canton with the modern amenities that residents desire will lay the groundwork for historic Canton becoming a destination for those who appreciate a live, work, play community. Being able to walk to restaurants, shopping and parks from where you live is one of the most sought after features that people want in their community.
A redevelopment is underway at the corner of Main and Academy Streets in the historic downtown area. This project will incorporate the former Canton Elementary School and former Canton Textile Mills office, and will include restaurants, retail and office space, along with additional parking. Panera Bread will be in this location, including having a convenient drive through.
The Jones Building in downtown Canton, which is the large building facing the gazebo, is being repurposed as well. Plans include classroom and meeting space, a special events space and a visitor’s center.

Outdoor Adventures

For those who enjoy the outdoors, Canton has some of the best parks and trails in the north metro Atlanta area. Heritage Park, Etowah Park and Boling Park are some of our favorites, offering trails, playgrounds, play fields, and more. Etowah Park has a playground specifically built to be accessible to children of all abilities. Picnic pavilions and an outdoor amphitheater round out Etowah Park’s amenities.
And of course, there is the beautiful Etowah River meandering through the city of Canton.
If you haven’t been to Canton lately, maybe it is time for a visit!
