Celebrating Those Who Shape and Serve: Giving Tuesday 2021

Eight years ago, in 2013, Path & Post began our Season of Giving, or #GivingTuesday initiative of paying it forward with random acts of kindness in the community. Since then, each year we have committed to spreading kindness, generosity, and a little more gratitude during one of our favorite seasons of the year.

New to #GivingTuesday?

Each year, people all over the world unite for a celebration of generosity called Giving Tuesday. These acts of kindness include giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and causes. Currently, Giving Tuesday consists of over 70 national movements in over 300 communities worldwide, coming together to equal millions of acts of generosity. Online, these acts of kindness are tracked with the variations of the hashtag #givingtuesday, with thousands of representations of the goodness in the world visible on multiple platforms.

We Celebrate What Makes our Community Special

We love living local, and each year we brainstorm how we can best make a difference during the Season of Giving. 2020 created challenges for many people, particularly those who work in the hospitality industry. 2021 continued to be a strain on the livelihoods of many of these same people. This year, we extend our goal of paying it forward by tipping servers and others in the hospitality industry generously, and we encourage others in the community who are able to join us in this effort to do the same.

Thanks For Serving Our Community

This year, Path & Post will contribute up to $3,000 as we participate in Giving Tuesday. This season, our team members will be able to give an additional $50 tip on top of their standard server tips. After coming together to show gratitude for each other on Thanksgiving, we come together once more to show gratitude for those who shape and serve our community.

At Path & Post, we believe the truest form of communication is behavior. It’s not what you say, it’s what you do in life that matters most. We also believe strongly that values shape behavior. Giving Tuesday gives us a chance to live our values with action, which is why this is our favorite time of year.

Are you participating in Giving Tuesday this year? Reach out to us! We’d love to hear your stories about how you’re choosing to spread kindness in your own community.
