Johns Creek is one of North Fulton's most established suburbs, with a population of roughly 85,000. The city sits in the northeast corner of Fulton County along the Chattahoochee River, bordered by Roswell and Alpharetta to the west, Forsyth County and Suwanee to the north, and Gwinnett County to the east.
Johns Creek's roots trace back to 1981, when a group of Georgia Tech graduates purchased land along the river to build Technology Park, a planned office development that went on to attract more than 200 companies, including several Fortune 500 firms. That tech-driven foundation shaped everything that followed. Residents voted to incorporate the city in 2006, and Johns Creek has since grown into one of Georgia's highest-income, best-educated communities, with more than 400 acres of parkland spread across nine city parks along the riverfront.
The city remains a major employment center, home to companies like Alcon, Boston Scientific, and Macy's Technology, along with Emory Johns Creek Hospital. GA-400 sits just to the west, with Peachtree Parkway, McGinnis Ferry Road, and State Bridge Road providing quick access to Alpharetta's Avalon district, Roswell, and the broader North Atlanta job market.
