Marietta is the county seat for Cobb and has a delightful downtown square with festivals, restaurants, theater and quirky shops. Just outside downtown is the best of suburban life, including top education, parks, and sports complexes.
Marietta is only 18 miles northwest of Atlanta and is known for its southern hospitality, arts and culture, parks and recreation, and historic sites. Anchored by Glover Park on the historic square, Marietta hosts many festivals and concerts throughout the year. Six Flags Whitewater park is in Marietta, as well as the landmark Big Chicken, a 56 foot tall chicken towering above the historic Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant. Marietta is also home to Navy and Marine Reserve units at Dobbins Air Reserve Base.
Just a few miles south of Marietta at I-75 and I-285, is Truist Park, home to the Atlanta Braves. Joining Truist Park is the destination known as The Battery Atlanta, an entertainment mecca with retail, restaurants, and bars, as well as the Roxy Theater.
